Lets welcome her 선생님 : 반갑습니다 Nice to meet you 안녕하세요, 저는 여기 한과 문화 박물관에서 체험교육을 담당하고 있는 이영미입니다 Hello, my name is Youngme Lee whos in charge of experience here at hangwa museum ---- 오늘 만들어 볼 한과 (Traditional snacks we are making today) 유과(Yugwa) ---- Chris : where is he ? Tell me what you know ------ 성현 : 물어볼게요 How was your experience making all that traditional snacks? Its yugwa 오늘 한과 만들어 봤는데 어땠어요? 우리가 만든건 유과에요 Sarah : It was fun 재미있었어요 It was interesting because when I saw them initially 흥미로웠어요 왜냐하면 처음에 봤을때는 I had really different thought what they are gonna be like. 이게 어떨지에 대해 정말 다른 생각을 갖고 있었는데요 Cuz, Im so used to rice cake that are like jelly. 저는 젤리같은 식감의 떡에 익숙해져 있거든요 So, it was gonna be like that kinda like chewy and solid. But it was different 그래서 약간 쫄깃한 것을 예상했는데, 완전히 다르네요 성현 : How about you Chris? 크리스는 어때요? Chris : Yeah, I thought the same thing. 저도 똑같이 생각했어요 I enjoyed the fact there was crunchy 저는 이게 바삭바삭해서 좋았어요 and I had a lot of fun drowning the rice cake in the honey. 그리고 유과 떡을 조청에 빠트리면서 노는것도 재밌었고요 ---- Step 2 한과의 유래를 알아보자 Lets learn about the origin of the traditional snack ---- Step 3 한과를 먹어보자 Lets taste traditional korean snacks ---- 성현 : Actually, theres different kind of Korean traditional snacks 사실, 한과는 여러 가지 종류가 있어요 So, I brought that to taste it and for the experience. 그래서 제가 여러분이 맛보고 경험할 수 있도록 가져와 봤어요 So, lets taste this. 먹어봅시다. Um. this is called dasik 이것은 다식이라는 거에요 Help your self! 먹어보세요 성현 : Try 먹어봐요 Oh, what a gentleman, you let her eat first. 여성 먼저 먹게 하는 것을 보니 정말 신사적이네요 Chris : hmmmm 성현 : Ok. 좋아요 Sarah : Its got very neutral taste. Its not really sweet and its not salty either 정말 중립적인 맛을 갖고 있네요. 너무 달지 않아요. 짜지도 않고요 Chris : It taste like beans. 콩 맛이 나요 성현 : Ok, next! 네 다음입니다. This is Yugwa. 이것은 유과에요 Ok, go ahead. 좋아요. 먹어보세요 Sarah : Ok. 네 Chris : It taste different than that. 일단, 저 것이랑은 정말 맛이 다르네요 I like it cuz its not sweet. 달지 않아서 이게 마음에 드네요 I dont really like things are too sweet so.. 저는 너무 단 것을 좋아하지 않아요 성현 : Its just enough sweetness for the Korean snacks 그쵸, 한국 과자들은 당도가 딱 적당해요 Chris : yeah 맞아요 Sarah : Its almost like honey soaked biscuit. 이건 꿀에 담궈 놓은 비스킷 같아요 성현 : MM Chris : MM Sarah : but without beeing sickly sweet. 하지만 심하게 달지 않아요 because when you look at it. 이걸 먼저 보면 because you can see that its sticky and like IDK honey droped through 이게 끈적끈적하고 꿀이 잔뜩 묻은 것 같아 보이거든요 I would assume its really sweet. 그래서 진짜 달 거라고 생각했는데 I like that its not 그렇지 않아서 좋네요 성현 : Ok, lets move on to the next one 좋아요, 그럼 다음 과자로 넘어가 봅시다 its called Gangjeong 이것은 강정이라고 불러요 Chris : Oh! thank you. Such a gentleman 오! 감사합니다. 신사시네요 Sarah : I feel like it reminds me of a granola bar. 음, 이것은 그래놀라 바가 생각나네요 But like rice instead of wheat. I suppose 밀 대신에 쌀을 넣은 것 같아요. 제 추측에는요 I suppose. 제 생각에는 Chris : I like that one 전 이거 좋네요 Sarah : I like that. I feel like I could snack on this 저도 좋아요. 아마 저는 이것을 간식으로 먹을 수 있을 것 같아요 성현 : Yeah, its kinda similar to the grain bars 맞아요, 약간 곡물 바 같은 느낌이 들어요 like for your morning substitute 아침에 대체식으로 먹을 수 있을 것 같아요 Chris : Yeah, right, protein 네, 맞아요, 단백질 성현 : So, next 좋아요, 다음입니다 This is Junggwa. You can give it a try 이것은 정과랍니다. 먹어보세요 MMMM~ MMMM~ Sarah : Its nice 좋네요~ Chris : My favourite one 제일 좋네요 성현 : Really, among four (of them)? 진짜요? 저 네 개 중에요? No, its actually good with like popcorn and this all together. 좋네요. 이것은 팝콘이랑 같이 섞어서 먹으면 좋을 것 같아요 Lets give it a one, two, three, four. like level 제일 좋아하는 것을 순서대로 나열해 보세요 Oh, no... Dasik. Poor thing 안돼!! 다식. 불쌍한 것 ---- 아웃트로 ---- 성현 : Overall, whats your general think about Korean traditional snacks 전반적으로, 한국전통과자들은 어떤 것 같아요? Sarah : They are cool. 멋진것 같아요 I like that they are different. 저는 다 달라서 좋은 것 같아요 I like that they have unique taste, textures 저는 다 맛도, 식감도 다 달라서 좋은 것 같아요 and that they have whole process to making it 그리고 만드는 방법도 좋은 것 같아요 Chris : Yeah, I enjoyed them. 네, 저도 좋았던 것 같아요 I like how its not too sweet. 너무 달지 않아서 좋았어요 Cuz usually like back home the candies are very very sweet 왜냐하면 미국에서는 사탕들이 너무 너무 달거든요 But here, its like just enough. 하지만 여기는 딱 적당한 것 같아요 you know you can have good amount and not be like Oh, too sweet 아시죠, 딱 정당히 먹고 나면 아 너무 달다고 안할 거 같아요 성현 : Yeah, to clean that up something that you should drink. 네, 그 달달한거 헹구려고 음료를 마셔야 하잖아요 Sarah : He will have some coke on his side. 아마 크리스는 콜라를 필요로 할 거에요 성현 : True 그럴 것 같네요 Ok, thats it for today. 좋아요. 오늘은 여기까지에요 Thank you for coming and enjoying with us 와주셔서, 함께 즐거운 시간 보내주셔서 감사합니다 Everyone : bye~ 안녕~ 성현 : we are coming back next time. if we have! 다음에 돌아올게요, 기회가 있다면요!
