Thursday 27th July, Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2017 - London Showcase took place at the Lilian Baylis Studio, Sadler’s Wells.
지난 7월 27일 목요일, Sadler’s Wells 에서 Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2017 London Showcase 행사가 열렸습니다.
The Edinburgh Festival Fringe is one of the biggest celebrations of arts and culture around, where thousands of performers present shows for every taste.
Edinburgh Festival Fringe 는 예술과 문화 분야에서 가장 큰 축제 중 하나로, 다양한 종류의 공연이 펼쳐지는 축제입니다 .
In the showcase, four teams from Korea presented samples of their shows before their run of performances at the 2017 Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
이번 쇼케이스에서는 Edinburgh Festival Fringe 에 참여할 네 팀이 나와 공연을 펼쳤습니다.

- 오늘 저희가 이제 여기 영국까지 와서 뜻 깊은 자리에서 공연을 하게 되었는데 정말 감회가 또 새롭고. 이제 관객 분들 앞에서 이렇게 직접적으로 보여드리니까 받아주시는 피드백들 때문에 저희가 항상 힘이 나는 것 같습니다. 정말 뜻 깊은 시간이었고 좋은 시간이었던 것 같습니다.
- We are so pleased to be able to perform at this showcase here in the UK. We always get so much energy from the audience when we perform as they show such great reactions. Today was a memorable day for us.

Theatre Ganda Behind the Mirror
- 우선 이렇게 귀한 자리에 저희를 불러주셔서 너무나 감사드리구요. 오늘 쇼케이스 생각지 못하게 참 많은 기자 분들과 현지인 분들이 이렇게 찾아오셨습니다. 하지만 저희 끝까지 다 보여드리진 못했어요. 그게 너무 아쉽고. 저희가 에딘버러에서 프린지 페스티벌 참여합니다. 그때는 끝까지 보여드릴 수 있거든요. 꼭 오셔서 함께해 주셨으면 고맙겠습니다.
- We are grateful to be given this opportunity to perform at this showcase. We were surprised to see how many local audiences and reporters came here today. As we will be presenting the whole performance at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, I hope that many people can come and enjoy the full show.

Theatre Hooam Black and White Tea Room
- 먼저 전편이 아니라 짧게 편집을 해서 올린 공연이라서 약간 전달력에 있어서 약간의 우려를 했었는데 관객 분들이 굉장히 집중력 있게 잘 봐주셔서 멋지게 성공적으로 마칠 수 있는 것 같아서 기분이 좋습니다.
- We were worried that our message would not be conveyed to the audience as we have only performed a part of the story tonight. However it was a success and the audience were able to follow the story, so we are happy with that.

Park Gol Box Death City
- 저희가 이번에 스턴트와 컬러라는 소재들로‘데스 시티’라는 작품을 만들었는데, 오랜 기간 준비를 했거든요. 근데 그 작품을 에딘버러 페스티벌을 토대로 세계 무대로 가려는 계획 중에 좋은 쇼케이스 기회가 생겨가지고 처음으로 공연을 했는데 너무 가슴 벅찼고 정말 에딘버러라는 큰 무대를 가기 전에 이런 기회를 주셔가지구 정말 다시 한 번 감사드립니다.
- We created a performance combining stunts and colour called 'Death City' and to get it ready we spent a lot of time preparing. We are so happy to be given the chance to perform in London at this great showcase, as it is the first step in bringing our show to international audiences. Our next step is Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Thank you so much for this great opportunity.

What did you think of today’s showcase?

Hem Amin / Audience 관객
- I think it was a excellent exposure of Korean art creativity. I believe Korea is one of the leading nations in Asia in terms of creativity and art. It's great to see the best of Korea in London.
- 한국 예술의 창의력을 보여줄 수 있는 좋은 기회였다고 생각합니다. 창의력과 예술 분야에 있어서 한국은 아시아 국가들 중에서 굉장히 발전한 나라이기 때문에 런던에서 한국의 이런 멋진 공연들을 볼 수 있어 즐거웠습니다.

Which performance did you enjoy the most?
가장 재미있게 본 공연은 어떤 공연이었나요?

Hem Amin / Audience 관객
- I enjoyed them all. But I personally have a preference to things that are comical. I like mime and magical things. And I like things which are jokish characters in them. The play was really well done. I did enjoy that. It’s serious but still enjoyed.
- 네 개의 공연 모두 재밌었지만, 저는 코미디 극이 가장 기억에 남습니다. 마임과 마술도 좋았고, 웃긴 캐릭터가 나와서 재미있었습니다. 연극도 정말 잘 봤습니다. 조금 진지했지만 흥미롭게 봤습니다.
