[LA/해외문화PD] '소리X글자 : 한글디자인' 해외 특별전

2017년 5월 10일 수요일, LA한국문화원에서는 세종대왕 탄신 620주년을 기념하여 「소리X글자:한글디자인」 전시회가 열렸습니다.

To celebrate the 620th birthday of King Sejong the Great, Korean Cultural Center and National Hangeul Museum hosted a special exhibition called, ‘Sounds x Hangeul’ on May 10th, 2017.

이번 전시는 한국과 미국의 문화적 공감대를 바탕으로 하여, 한글의 소리를 시각화하고 한글의 확장성과 조형성 등을 보여주는 전시입니다.

Based on cultural similarities between the Korean and English alphabet systems, the exhibition visualized the sound of hangeul and manifested the sound expansion and formalities of hangeul.

세종대왕 탄신 620주년을 맞이해서 소리글자인 한글을 아름다움을 디자인으로 표현해보기위하여 이번 전시를 준비하게 되었습니다
This exhibition is held to commemorate the 620 th birthday of King Sejong the Great. and it emphasizes the sound of Hangeul through various media works.

이번 해외 특별기획전은 한글과 소리라는 주제를 가지고 있고 회화, 미디어아트, 공예품 들을 통해서 한글의 소리를 시각화할 수 있는 전시로 기획을 하게 되었습니다. ?The special exhibition held in LA portrays the idea of sounds of the Korean language. We tried to visualize the sounds of Hangeul through painting, media art and craft work.

1부 ‘소리를 담은 글자, 한글’ 에서는 한글과 알파벳의 비교를 통해 한글의 문자적 특징과 한글 창제에 담긴 세종대왕의 애민정신을 소개하며,
The first part of the exhibition “Hangeul Embracing the Sounds” compares Hangeul and English alphabet and embraces King Sejong’s heart for his people by introducing his aim for creating hangeul and the phonemic characteristics of Hangeul.

2부 ‘소리와 디자인’ 에서는 한글이 담고 있는 소리를 다양한 감각으로 체험 할 수 있는 미디어 아트와 디자인 작품 30여점으로 구성 되었습니다,
The second part “Sounds×Design” exhibits about 30 collaboration pieces by a team of nine designers that allow the visitors to experience the sound of Hangeul through media arts and various design works.

정말 멋져요. 세종대왕에 대한 드라마를 본 적이 있는데, 한글을 어떻게 창조하게 되었는지,
또 국민들이 얼마나 좋아했는지에 대한 이야기 였어요. 이번 전시도 관람객에게 소리 문자 한글에 대해서 잘 전달 해주는 것 같아 굉장히 좋은 전시인 것 같습니다.

이번 전시는 6월2일까지 LA한국문화원에서 관람 가능합니다.
The exhibition will continue until June 2 nd at the Korean Cultural Center Los Angeles.
