[주시드니한국문화원] 한국의 맛과 멋을 동시에 알린 캠시(Campsie) 음식축제

2015년 5월 30일, 캔터베리 시에서 주최하는 음식 축제인 ‘제 16회 캠시 음식축제(Campsie Food Festival)’가 개최되었습니다. 캠시에서 열린 이번 음식축제에는 한국을 비롯한 프랑스, 헝가리, 터키, 포르투갈, 일본, 태국 등 여러나라의 전통 요리를 맛볼 수 있는 프로그램이 마련되었습니다.

이날 행사를 시작하는 공식 세레모니에서 주시드니한국문화원은 주최측 내빈들과 함께 대형김밥 만들기 프로그램을 진행해 많은 관심을 받았습니다.한식시연은 문화원 한식 요리강좌 강사로 왕성하게 활동하고 있는 헤더 정(Heather Jeong)씨가 진행했습니다.헤더 정씨는 김치와 김밥 만들기를 시연하며, 참가할 시민을 즉석에서 선정해 무대 위에서 함께 음식을 만들었습니다.시연 후 100인분의 음식 샘플이 제공되었고, 많은 시민들이 음식을 맛보며 즐거워했습니다.

주시드니한국문화원은 안작몰(Anzac Mall) 중앙무대 부근에 인포메이션 부스를 설치해 한국문화 소개 책자, 한국 음식 조리법 브로슈어 등 다양한 홍보물을 배포했습니다.특히 한복을 입은 선비와 아씨의 모습으로 사진을 찍어볼 수 있는 포토존과 한복 입어보기 체험코너가 마련되어 많은 사람들의 주목을 받았고 한국의 맛과 멋을 동시에 알렸습니다.

Organised by the city of Canterbury, the 16th 'Campsie Food Festival' was held in Campsie on 30th of May 2015. There were myriads of traditional dishes from countries including Korea, France, Hungary, Turkey, Portugal, Japan and Thailand.

During the opening ceremony, Korean Cultural Centre and the Canterbury organisers ran a short program of making giant kimbap. The programme was closely watched with many attentive eyes.Heather Jeong, who has been working as a chef and instructor of Korean cooking class at the Korean Cultural Centre, held demonstrations of Korean food.?Jeong selected a few audiences on the spot to join her cooking demonstration of making Kimchi and Kimbap. After the demonstration, 100 servings of the demonstrated food were given to the audience to enjoy.

Korean Cultural Centre ran an information booth around the main stage of Anzac mall and distributed brochures and pamphlets which introduces information about Korean culture, Korean food recipe and so on. Especially, the photo zone in the look of the 'scholar' and the 'lady' along with try-on Hanbok programme? drew hundreds and thousands of eyes and successfully promoted both the taste and the charms of Korea.
